« My paintings reflect a voyage, a movement through space and time, a dynamic perception of our man-made environment. Successive snapshots de-constructed and re-composed in a unique ensemble by the brain – this is, I believe, our own private reality and this is what I try to paint. Everything is in constant movement and transformation, nothing really disappears. This is particularly evident in old towns or cities where centuries pile on top of each other, their wise shadows from the past intermingling with the present. Where each building, wall, window with thousands of love-and-blood stories to tell, leans toward the ground in search of ears open to a whisper. Today, as an artist I play with colors, mediums and textures, while as a trained architect I explore, virtually without limitations, the impact of the built environment on our psyche. Through volumes, color and spaces, depths, scale and perspective, my hope is to signal the power of our surroundings and hopefully raise expectations in their regards. Oana Lauric, Romanian-Italian artist, lived in Paris France for a decade and is currently working in her studio in Maine, USA. Has a French Architect DPLG degree and a Romanian Fine Arts Baccalaureate. Worked as an architect and a designer for several years, before becoming a professional artist painter in 2001. Is permanently represented by Galerie du Soleil in Naples, FL, Osterville Fine Art Gallery in Osterville, MA and Voila! Inc. in Boston, MA
